Obama Attempts to Rewrite Conservatism

Barack Obama has inserted himself right into the middle of Republican Party debate over its defining principles. His purpose in doing so is to neutralize any Republican opposition to his plans of moving America irrevocably to the left.

The Democrat “divide and conquer” strategy worked well against the Republicans on far too many occasions in the past, particularly when the GOP was under the sway of “moderates.” All too often, these crowd pleasers took the Democrat bait, attempting to ingratiate themselves with the voting public by offering a second-rate imitation of the Democrat agenda. The events of the past few weeks, when considered in their entirety, reveal that Republicans are being set up to take another fall.

Barack Obama has inserted himself right into the middle of Republican Party debate over its defining principles. His purpose in doing so is to neutralize any Republican opposition to his plans of moving America irrevocably to the left. And like virtually every previous Democrat scheme, he clearly cannot succeed without the help of Republican liberals. But while he and his party have too often benefited from their collaboration, an ideological Armageddon is brewing in the American political arena. Battle lines are being drawn. A backlash against the disastrous Obama agenda may well drive the GOP back to its conservative roots.

Since his ascension to power, Barack Obama has been incessantly looking to establish a network of useful idiots among the Republicans, both inside the Beltway and among the punditry. As a critical building block of this program, he needs to create a monopoly over the dissemination of information which, in recognition of the very threat he and his kind pose to the future of the country, the Founders specifically prohibited with their adoption of the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights. Regardless, Obama is working overtime to thwart their long-standing safeguards of freedom and justice. And as the Obama spawned attacks on every front indicate, he and his political machine will stop at nothing in order to have their way.

The latest Obama tactic is blatantly obvious, but more significantly, it is extremely ominous, coming as it does from the chief executive. Plainly unsatisfied with merely holding the nation’s highest office, Obama is executing a coordinated effort to attack and fracture the conservative movement, effectively sealing his political supremacy if he is successful. Americans throughout the political spectrum ought to be alarmed by such behavior. In the long run, the power-hungry do not stop at party lines, nor do they hold any regard for those quaint constitutional confines intended to protect all citizens of the Republic.

The centerpiece of Obama’s assault on his opposition is, of course, the recent brazen attempts to isolate and marginalize Rush Limbaugh. Obama knows that real conservatism, as espoused by Limbaugh, would bolster national prosperity, while reinvigorating the GOP faithful who have been so disillusioned by the party in recent years. In the past, whenever Republicans followed a political template of real conservatism, they reaped enormous electoral successes. So in order to avert that threat, Obama and his minions have sought to create a disconnect between the two.

Not surprisingly, the predictable voices from the liberal media are willing to carry this water for him. Limbaugh’s usual media critics have been nearly hysterical in the wake of his pronouncement that he wants Obama’s policies to “fail.” Such a statement should be the only response of anyone who understands the real consequences of Obama’s intentions to bury America’s once vibrant system of free enterprise beneath the decomposing carrion of socialism. Seeing the Obama White House engaged in a self-destructive program of remolding America, Limbaugh understandably hopes the effort can be defeated.

Media mouthpieces, in concert with Obama Administration talking points, have been incessantly demanding that every Republican appearing in front of a camera either denounce Limbaugh for merely stating the obvious, or admit to being in agreement with him.

Rather than dealing with his contention on its legitimate face value, the liberal attack machine has seized upon it as a weapon with which to bludgeon every Republican into acquiescence and appeasement. If Rush Limbaugh can be sufficiently vilified, to the point that invertebrate members of the Republican Party determine him to be an embarrassment and disavow him as such, the severance of real conservatism from the GOP mainstream would place the party at a permanent political disadvantage against the Democrats.

But the Obama White House may already have overstepped. America is not unilaterally supportive of the incomprehensibly vast and exorbitantly expensive “stimulus” package, the equally swollen and tainted Obama budget proposal, or the dangers inherent in a socialist degeneration of the world’s best health-care system. America does not rally to the possibility of an ever-expanding government that saps the nation’s economic engine, in exchange for empty promises of utopia that historically have only delivered despair and squalor.

Interestingly, some puzzling demarcations have surfaced among Obama’s previously monolithic support among the liberal media. White House Press Secretary and political hatchet man Robert Gibbs leveled personal attacks against Rick Santelli and Jim Cramer, two reporters from CNBC (hardly a bastion of right-wing extremism) on account of their criticism of the counterproductive spending practices of the White House and Congressional Democrats. Hard left Senator Robert Byrd (D.-WV) voiced his own concerns regarding Obama’s over reaching effort to nationalize the U.S. economy.

Oblivious to all of this, the Obama attack machine has completely miscalculated the effect of its Machiavellian plot against Limbaug. It is not merely a flamboyant radio personality with whom Obama must contend, but the very principles of conservatism itself that Limbaugh so boldly and unwaveringly articulates. It is those Americans who cherish the memory of Ronald Reagan’s “shining city on a hill,” and are thus increasingly resolved to resurrect their country from the mire in which it currently exists. Against such an adversary, the empty platitudes of Barack Obama cannot prevail.

If Rush Limbaugh remains steadfast in his convictions and refuses to back peddle from them (an absolute certainty given his track record on such matters), Obama’s ongoing attacks will only serve to continually highlight the stark contrast between America’s stellar economic past, and its bleak future under the malignant influence of the current administration.

Americans, including many who bought into all of the drivel of “hope and change” a few months ago, are becoming increasingly skeptical as they watch the orgies of spending that continue inside the Beltway while their savings and freedoms dissipate into oblivion.

And when the sleeping giant of Reagan conservatism reestablishes itself, its members will know who among the Washington elite, on both sides of the political aisle, stood for the great principles that once heralded national prosperity, and who attempted to jump on the latest political bandwagon without consideration of the ensuing harm that would befall the nation.
