Michael Savage Thinks Senator Durbin's Illegal Alien DREAM Act Is NIGHTMARE

The omni-amnesty bil was defeated this year, right? Wrong. It has just come back in piece-meal legislation. Who has been telling you about this development? Certainly not the so-called "mainstream media", whose informative news reports are just a trickle.

When the action really heated up and the Congress’ switchboards shut down, due to angry citizens calling their representatives, some in talk radio were good about pointing out the disaster that would follow giving twenty+ illegal aliens amnesty. However, in this latest battle not many have risen to the occasion, that occasion being to sound the same warnings they sounded over the amnesty bill being considered in the Senate. These attempts to push through in piece-meal fashion what they could not get through in the whole enchilada are being done in the age-old tradition of the pork barrelers. The pro-illegal-alien measures are being attached to larger bills that they think will not be denied.

Michael Savage is almost the lone broadcaster perceiving that this DREAM act is being pushed through and who is doing it. He wonders on the air how Senator Dick Durbin keeps getting elected. With the approval ratings of all of Congress in the pits, Durbin and other supporters of the DREAM act seem not to be worried about their re-elections. Durbin has adopted the “pity the poor illegal alien” line as he tries to justify giving valuable benefits to illegal students.

Savage has had experience denouncing the DREAM (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors) act. Recently, a group of “immigrants” fasted in San Francisco’s Civic Center Plaza in support of the DREAM act. This act would give preferential treatment to those here illegally in the form of in-state tuition. Also, because they would be considered a minority, they would probably be given first consideration for the scarce slots available at our colleges and universities.

Savage voiced his opinion that these dissidents should be allowed to starve, if that was their intention. He is not the only person to feel outraged by this demanding of “rights” that are bogus. Students in this country illegally are provided education free through elementary and secondary schools. At an estimated $10,000 per school year per student, these illegals have taken approximately $120,000 each from the taxpayers. This does not include the expensive, and largely ineffective, English as a Second Language schooling. While they are demonstrating for more taxpayer money to be spent on them, it would be nice to see even one of them express thanks to the taxpayers who have provided them with their education.

They can always count on many Democrats and some RINOs to further their causes. Senators Durbin, Kennedy, and Hatch have led the effort for several years to get this act passed. It is not new.

As early as March, 2003, Catholic Charities USA was writing letters to senators such as Ted Kennedy, Dick Durbin and Orrin Hatch, thanking them for their “strong support” for “the U.S. raised child immigrants lacking immigration status”. The Catholic Church has made a crusade out of “welcoming the stranger” in their churches. Cardinal Roger Mahony was prominent as he and Ted Kennedy appeared together to try to persuade senators to pass the “comprehensive” amnesty bill defeated this year.

Those promoting the DREAM act try to play on the sympathies of the American people by saying that these children were brought here by their parents and are not to blame. These parents will be rewarded for their lawbreaking, if the DREAM act passes, by having their children put on “a path to citizenship”. They will then be able to sponsor their own illegal alien parents and other family members. It is a cynical play on the citizens’ sympathies to get through their kids what they could not get otherwise.

As there is no upper age limit in the bill, any illegal alien can claim they came here under the stipulated age of sixteen. However, Kris Kobach, in a Heritage Foundation Backgrounder of September 13, 2007, stated that “a 45 year old can claim that he illegally entered the United States 30 years ago at the age of 15”. As proof of the claim that they were under the age of 16 when they sneaked across the border, all they need to do is sign an affidavit.

To give the illegal alien every benefit possible, the framers of this act also included the stipulation that once an illegal files an application, he/she cannot be deported. Voila……instant amnesty. It’s a DREAM come true!

Outraged American citizens broadsided the so-called “comprehensive” amnesty, but it is being sneaked into legislation such as a defense bill in the hope that the people have fallen asleep and will not notice. The DREAM act is only the tip of the proverbial iceberg, (an apt analogy). Waiting in the wings behind the DREAM act are the AGJobs and Hi-B visa laws. These laws will also grant a path to citizenship. The AGJobs will be payback for the agricultural supporters of the different congress people who are beholden to that lobby. The H1-B visas are given to workers from foreign countries to come here and work for companies for less money than American citizens would demand. These laws will permit millions of aliens to access the good living conditions we have worked so hard to establish over the years.

Where does your senator/congressperson stand on this? Some were led reluctantly to deny amnesty while lots of people were looking, but seem to have ways to get what they really want. Democrats want more voters, while Republicans want to reward their big business donors. Who is representing you?

The mainstream media will never give much attention to the DREAM act and its implications. Talk show hosts are busy talking about Britney Spears and O.J. Simpson. Not many are addressing probably the most important issue facing us today, the remaking of the borders, language and culture of this country. Michael Savage says these values are what he is all about. He uses his considerable megaphone to inform anyone who will listen.

How does your senator stand on these issues? Who is listening to you? Who is lobbying for you? Whose side is your Senator/Congressperson on?

“An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us.”
