Stop Obamacare by Stopping ACORN

The truth is that whether it's called Hillarycare, or Obamacare, or Pelosi-Reidcare, it's long been critical part of the ACORN agenda and as soon as a presidential candidate backed by ACORN is elected, mislabeled "healthcare reform" becomes a top legislative priority in the effort to socialize America.

The ACORN-Obamacare connection is a little appreciated, but potentially decisive, part of the current health care debate.

Opponents of Obamacare should forthrightly make a "game-changing" argument against the threatening health care "reform": Obamacare is a key part of corrupt ACORN's (and Obama's) radical agenda and thus a key part of why ACORN illicitly cooperated with the Obama presidential campaign to elect Obama to socialize America, beginning with health care.

Now publicly exposed and disgraced ACORN is NOT out front on Obamacare (even though ACORN expects to be a big beneficiary of it).

That's because ACORN is now even more toxic than Obamacare.

"ACORN May Impose Lifestyle Regulations Under ObamaCare

"Posted on August 19, 2009

"Could you imagine a nightmare dystopia where corrupt ACORN troglodytes would be charged with monitoring your lifestyle and dietary habits on behalf of an all-powerful federal Leviathan that officially owns your very body? The statist goblins that wrote the ObamaCare bill sure can. From Fox Nation:

The health care reform bill approved by the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee (HELP) would provide federal grants to state and local governments and a 'national network of community-based organizations' to 'promote healthy living and reduce disparities' and to monitor people’s weight, eating, exercise habits and other individual behaviors that affect health at the community level. The language instituting the program, entitled 'Community Transformation Grants,' is on pages 382-387 of the bill as posted on the committee’s Web site.

"Here’s the bill. From page 386:

TYPES OF MEASURES. — In carrying out subparagraph (A), the eligible entity shall, with respect to residents in the community, measure —

(i) decreases in weight;

(ii) increases in proper nutrition;

(iii) increases in physical activity;

(iv) decreases in tobacco use prevalence;

(v) other factors using community specific data from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey; and

(vi) other factors as determined by the Secretary.

"The appallingly corrupt and powerful Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT), best known for receiving the largest bribes from Fannie and Freddie before they crashed, confirms that ACORN could be the 'eligible entity' that makes sure you are taking good care of the government’s property by exercising properly, eating right, and so forth.

"If our radical left rulers are able to impose ObamaCare, they will know there is no limit to how far they can go in indulging their totalitarian impulses."

Starting with the release of the first of the "Pimp and Pro" ACORN videos on September 10, 2009, ACORN support has been becoming more and more counterproductive as more and more people come to realize what ACORN really is all about.

Make no mistake, Obamacare is critically important to ACORN, Obama and the Far Left and stopping it is vital to America.

From http://www.foundingbloggers.com/wordpress/2009/09/acorn-backed-group-now-targeting-enemies-of-obamacare/:

"ACORN Backed Group Now Targeting 'Enemies' Of Obamacare

"September 20, 2009

"Union thugs are gearing up for demonstrations to attack 'enemies' of Obamacare:

"But Health Care for America Now (HCAN), which is backed by a coalition of labor unions and liberal groups including ACORN and MoveOn.org, organized the protests to target insurance companies and drafted the plan, which describes the demonstrations as part of its 'insurance enemies project.'

"Even worse, they are openly talking about stoking anger.

The document, a copy of which was obtained by The Washington Times, details specific talking points, tactics, props and strategies to stage the protests. It lists goals that include action that 'mobilizes our base by animating existing anger about private insurers.'"

Currently the ACORN website is NOT trumpeting health care "reform" as a key part of ACORN's wealth redistribution and "free lunch" campaigns.

At http://www.acorn.org/index.php?id=12342, "issue campaigns" states: "Each ACORN office carries out multiple issue campaigns. ACORN members across the country work to raise the minimum wage or enact living wage policies; eliminate predatory financial practices by mortgage lenders, payday lenders, and tax preparation companies; win the development of affordable housing and community benefits agreements; improve the quality of and funding for urban public schools; rebuild New Orleans; and pass a federal and state ACORN Working Families Agenda, including paid sick leave for all full time workers."

The truth is that (1) whether it's called Hillarycare, or Obamacare, or Pelosi-Reidcare, it's long been critical part of the radical ACORN agenda to "fundamentally transform" America and (2) as soon as a presidential candidate backed by ACORN is elected, mislabeled "healthcare reform" becomes a top legislative priority in the effort to socialize America.

When Bill Clinton finished his speech accepting the 1992 Democrat presidential nomination, the first person to congratulate him was Zach Pollett, ACORN's political director since its creation in 1970.

Happily, "Hillarycare" failed and Bill Clinton embraced welfare reform in order to be re-electable.

ACORN was displeased, so it was not a surprise that purported "non-partisan" ACORN strongly backed Obama for president in 2007 and 2008.

Still, if you click on "campaigns" at the ACORN website (www.acorn.org), this statement on "health care" is still up": "Some 45 million people across the U.S. have no health insurance, with many more lacking adequate coverage. ACORN members are working to achieve affordable health care for all. Work is currently underway to get more hospitals to institute 'charity care,' or free care, programs and discounts. These policies can eliminate or reduce, hospital bills for families with low-and-moderate incomes. They often suffer from being uninsured or underinsured" (http://www.acorn.org/index.php?id=12341).

Naturally, Michelle Malkin understood and sounded the alarm, in "Counterprotesting Obamacare and the ACORN/SEIU mob" (May 31, 2009):

"I wrote earlier this month about the need for the Right to counter the huge Obamacare push by the big government alliance. Resistance has to happen on the ground, on the airwaves, and in the halls of Congress. ACORN, the SEIU, and the rest of the liberal grass-roots network are organized and committed to helping the White House. They’re pulling out all the stops:

Activists delivered a stack of dirty laundry to U.S. Rep. John Boehner’s West Chester Twp. office Wednesday, May 27, to protest his stance on health care reform.

The 14 T-shirts had messages written on them, many from a nearby low-income neighborhood.

'I have breast cancer — a pre-existing condition. I can’t get health coverage. Please Mr. Boehner, support health care for Americans now,' read one T-shirt signed by 'Cassandra.'

'I lost my insurance because I couldn’t get enough hours at work,' another read.

The demonstration was part of a nationwide effort organized by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now and Health Care for America Now. They targeted Boehner, U.S. House Republican leader, because of his record of opposing expansion of publicly funded healthcare.

'These health insurance companies have a lot of dirty laundry to air,' said Ohio ACORN Director Amy Teitelman. 'We want Rep. Boehner to be on the side of the people who made these T-shirts, not on the side of health insurance companies.'

'(Boehner) has voted consistently against expanding healthcare, and we’re trying to get him to see it’s hurting his constituency,' said ACORN organizer Debra Hentnik.

"Health Care for America Now is funded by the radical left Tides Foundation, founded by Drummond Pike — the ACORN sugar daddy who bailed out the rotten Rathke family after ACORN founder Wade Rathke’s brother, Dale, was exposed as the thief who embezzled nearly $1 million from the organization.

"The Right needs to expose these corruptocrats; show Americans that the do-gooder poseurs want more power and control, not real 'health care reform;' and match them foot soldier for foot soldier in the streets.

"In Seattle, our friend Keli Carender — the mom-blogger at Liberty Belle who channeled her anger about the trillion-dollar porkulus bill into political activism and helped get the Tea Party movement rolling even before it had that name — is doing just that. Over the weekend, she brought together hundreds of taxpayers to counterprotest the ACORN/SEIU/Obamacare network. Keli e-mailed last night:

We had almost 400 people show up to counter the socialized health care protest today in Seattle! I’ll blog about it in a bit. I just wanted to get you some pics right away. Keep in mind that we had about three weeks to plan this and NO funding or backers. They had…all the funding of all the unions and ACORN. It was fun, and everyone told me that are really starting to get energized, and they are ready for more!!! One woman said, 'You know how fear provokes either fight or flight? My fear about the direction of this country is making me want to fight! Not too long ago it would have been different. I’m ready to fight now.'"

Fight we should, for the sake of good, as America's Founders expected we would.
