ACORN founder Wade Rathke (www.chieforganizer.org) is still helping his guy Obama. (If Rathke really wanted to give Obama grief, he could do even more than ACORN whistleblower Anita MonCrief.)

Obama really needs some criticism from the Far Left in order to support the illusion of moderation and Rathke's providing it.

It's like those expressions of concern from the Far Left that Obama's Supreme Court nominees, now Justice Sonia Sotomayor, the La Raza favorite endorsed by ACORN, and Solicitor Elena Kagan, Obama's soul mate from Academia, may not be liberal enough. They reassure the bulk of the American people.

It's like Congressman Luis Gutierrez, one of the leftist Democrats honored at ACORN's last anniversary gala (2009), saying he would oppose Obamacare and then voting for it, of course. (Kerry notoriously was for a bill before he voted against it; Gutierrez was (publicly) against Obamacare before he was for it.)

With Obama's approval rating sinking as his radical reality and executive ineptitude become apparent, Rathke stepped forward to help and will be marching in Arizona.

Rathke: "Time to pack for Arizona! It’s important to join the mobilization on May 29th with the assembled forces to stand and protest against the implementation of SB 1070, the anti-immigrant, racial profiling bill that is terrorizing good people in Arizona."

Imagine that! People who are illegally in the United States are "terrorized" by the thought that they may be returned to their home countries.

Rathke chided Obama for "dispatching 1500 National Guard ostensibly to deal with drug trafficking and crime along the border."

Rathke duly noted that Obama had stated that he is "personally" against the new Arizona law and for the Phoeniz Suns "having worn their Los Suns jerseys in solidarity against the haters on Cinco de Mayo." (After all, Obama's heart is with illegal aliens and he loves Hispanics, as he proved by appointing Justice Sonia Sotomayor, the pride of La Raza.)

Meanwhile, those who believe that immigration law should be enforced and borders matter are "haters"!

Rathke: "I can’t pretend that Obama is...not mindful of the message he sends when he dispatches troops to the border posturing to beef up enforcement at the same time that tens of thousands are assembling to march in Phoenix this Saturday morning to demand justice."

To Rathke, "justice" is creating a right to immigrate illegally and border enforcement is downright "unjust"!

Rathke: "There’s politics and then there is right and wrong."

True! Obama and Rathke play politics very well. It's right and wrong that they misrepresent. Right, they resent and reclassify as wrong.

Rathke:

"The days on the calendar are steadily being crossed off to the point when enforcement of this grotesque travesty. We need the President to do the right thing then and refuse to cooperate with this cynical and racist legislation. When are we going to hear his real plans to act? Tick. Tock. Tick-tock!

"Meanwhile it looks like all of us will be marching, but in this case the federales will be running for the border, while the rest of stand to be counted in the streets of Phoenix.

"We need you with us there on the hot streets, Mr. President, and not sitting on a basketball court talking about draft picks."

A president who looks down his nose at the people and clings to his tele-prompter like he says Americans cling to God and guns needs to have some connection with the people Bill O'Reilly calls "the folks", like enjoying basketball.

Obama's dilemma is how to legalize the illegals so they can keep him and his political allies in office. Both Obama and Rathke realize that is key to the "fundamental change" they want.

Michael J. Gaynor has been practicing law in New York since 1973. A former partner at Fulton, Duncombe & Rowe and Gaynor & Bass, he is a solo practitioner admitted to practice in New York state and federal courts and an Association of the Bar of the City of New York member.
