Are Democrats Prepared To Lead Our Nation?

Many Americans were not interested in the Democrat's latest debate, and so refrained from watching it. We have become fed up with the negative bombastic rhetoric we've endured for the past six and a half years of the Bush presidency. We are all too aware of the lame contrived talking points.

Whenever the Democrat candidates speak, they hurt our country. We can no longer respect their views. Unfortunately, the Democrats leadership and too many of their constituents are extremists.

Middle America wants nothing to do with the far left ideology. Visit the websites where Democrats gather. You will find rude people who despise everything and everyone but themselves. They are socially inadequate, deeply afflicted and loathsome. They have deliberately chosen to embrace the angst they feel against their fellow countrymen and country.

Progressives feel comfortable with contempt and other negative emotions. The comedian and political pundit Bill Maher is not funny or amusing. We are told that he has talent by those in "The Biz." Maher simply displays his own naturally putrid personality. Those who post on the Daily Kos: State of the Nation, are of the same caliber of people.

Because of what has transpired within the Democrat National Committee, we must use our votes wisely in the upcoming election. Long gone are the days when Americans could afford to behave in an apathetic and uninformed manner where voting is concerned. Experience and moral substance must be today's only standards. We are living in a time of tremendous challenges to our very existence.

Many ask if Hilary Clinton can lead this country. Is she experienced enough? What are her qualifications to be President and Commander-in-Chief? Many are confused about where she stands on many issues, including drivers licenses for illegal aliens in New York, as seen during the recent debate.

In the days before television and even radio, people went out of their way to train stops to catch a glimpse of or listen to candidates who were vying for their vote. Americans read newspapers and discussed amongst themselves who would be the best person to sit in the Oval Office.

Back then, it did not matter if the candidates were Republican or Democrat. Good folks had open minds when seeking the right man. When all the political hoopla conventions and the elections were finally over, our countrymen united around the new President of the United States.

In 1960 Americans experienced their very first televised presidential debate between Vice president Richard Milhous Nixon and John Fitzgerald Kennedy. The election promised to be, and was a close one.

Eight million American viewers saw a huge contrast between a youthful energetic Kennedy and his opponent. Having no experience with this new venue of communication, Nixon rushed to the television station. He had no idea that the cameras would magnify his five o'clock shadow. He was tired at the end of a long day. Nixon's appearance during the debate played a major role in his losing the election. Had the debate been on the radio only, Nixon probably would have won.

We live in an era of political imagery where we have become enchanted with more than truth, character and substance. That debate was a major victory for Kennedy whose personal character traits where just as misleading as the man the media would coin as "Tricky Dicky" Nixon. Kennedy won by only 0.8% of the popular vote.

Nixon accepted the defeat, even though there were rumors within the beltway of suspected voter tampering. There were no hanging chads to be counted. Nixon, the statesman that he was, would not have asked for a recount. "The 1960 election also remains a source of debate among some historians as to vote theft in selected states aided Kennedy's victory." (United States presidential,1960-Wikipeda)

In the months ahead, Americans must become informed. Warm touchy feelings about a particular candidate will not save our country or our families in the perilous times that still lie ahead. Our focus must be on the issues and the candidates' experiences; gender of the candidates alone be dammed.

If you're inclined to vote Democrat, you'd best ask yourself if Hillary Clinton is ready to lead our great nation. Will she protect America against an era of radical Islamic terrorism? Is she ready to do whatever it takes to protect our homeland? Are her ideas of bigger socialistic government programs going to create Nirvana or a hell for the whole of our citizenry?

"I have so many ideas that we can't afford them all." — Hilary Clinton. The Boston Globe

Will Hillary's plans destabilize the Middle East by embracing the Democrat strategy of defeatism in Iraq? Will our enemies be emboldened if American troops are pulled out of Iraq before we win the peace? Will President Hilary Clinton help or hinder the United States?

This nation also faces a real crisis if we do not reform our Social Security program. Hillary says that she has a long record of fighting to protect Social Security and working for seniors. Where is this record? What exactly, if anything, has she done?

Americans lost a real opportunity when the Democrats teamed up with the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) to demonize the program President Bush proposed to help reform Social Security: Voluntary, partial, privatization of the system.

Although his proposal would have no effect on current retirees and others who did not want to participate in it, AARP and the Democrats, with the help of the media, scared seniors into believing that the whole system would be in jeopardy. As a result, his plan never got off the ground. Younger Americans would have greatly benefited in their golden years if the plan had been implemented.

No one in the media ever questions AARP about the role they play with the Planned Parenthood organization. Under the leadership of AARP and Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland, they implicitly supported the practice of euthanasia. That is quite significant. Did you know that, America?

The Democrats want to give us the George Soros "cradle to grave heath care plan." The billionaire gives hand over fist to the opposition Party. His programs will no doubt give us "euthanasia." He believes in it whole heartedly. Mr. Soros has no belief in God to bother his conscience. He is an atheist.

Euthanasia. Why not? Through abortion, we allow the death of our unborn to occur. The courts have deemed the women's right to choose a constitutional right.

Americans are sitting on their derrieres as birth control pills are given to 11 years old little girls in our public schools. Who is having sexual intercourse with little girls and why aren't these sex offenders behind bars for statutory rape?

If we are not careful at election time, our country will be another Europe, duplicating all their flawed ideas. Hillary and her Democrat ilk will give to us an unreturnable government gift. Their programs will be all-encompassing, uncontrollable socialism. Our healthcare system will be in shambles as it is in the United Kingdom and Canada.

While some were focus on the October 30 Democrat debates, many of us were still reflecting on the words spoken during the last GOP presidential debate. We are left pondering what Gov. Romney was asked by Chris Wallace. "Is Hillary prepared to lead?" The answer was a resounding Hillary is not prepared to lead our nation.

The question begs: Are any of today's Democrats ready to lead? You must carefully decide for yourself. "We have a country to save." — Larry Elder
