Protocols of the Learned Elders of DaVinci

Repeat a lie often it enough, and people will believe it. That was the mantra of Nazism. Lying is justified if it helps bring about the atheistic paradise of Marxism. That was the law of Communism. Produce a clever, but utterly absurd, forgery like The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, and Jews will spend a ridiculous amount of time and energy trying to disprove an absurd negative.

Sadly, what is true of lies about Jews and Judaism (Arab governments, not just private individuals, still maintain the legitimacy of old Tsarist forgery, just as these so-called “friendly” governments draw obscene and grotesque caricatures of Jews in publications, too offensive to recount and far too reminiscent of Goebbels for comfort, and just as these same “friendly” governments seriously propound that gentile blood is used by Jews at Pesach) is true about Christians and Christianity as well.

There are precisely four groups about whom people are free to lie, to slander, to malign and to attack with malicious mendacity at no cost:  Jews, Americans, Israelis and Christians.  What is true of Jews is, of course, true of Judaism, and what is true of Christians is true, of course, of Christianity.

People who hate Judaism also hate Christianity.  People who hate Jews also hate Christians.  People who hate Jews and Christians hate Israel and America.  The hatred of these people, Sinisterists, is bounded only by their willingness to worship at the altar of lies.  Lying is not the same thing as being incorrect.  Students are honestly incorrect all the time on tests.  Ordinary people make mistakes that are not lies all the time.  Lying is deliberately presenting reality as it is not.

The Da Vinci Code, long debunked by serious scholars and historians, is now not only a bestseller but soon to be a major motion picture.  Film has also been a preferred vehicle for Sinisterists to lie.  One television journalist (i.e. some highly paid and pompous puff who reads a teleprompter) once said “The camera never lies.”  In fact, of course, the camera lies all the time.

Nazi propaganda films were considered artistic masterpieces as were early Soviet propaganda films.  The Birth of the Nation, which glorified the Ku Klux Klan and transformed Jim Crow and lynching into the normal consequence of decent white people defending themselves against a malignant black population, was also uniformly acclaimed as great filmmaking.

The tragedy is that some in America, which repudiated these odious, but colorful lies, now has a significant group of Americans willing to believe like the Da Vinci Code because they hate Christianity so much (just like they are willing to believe that Israelis protecting their children from murder is somehow imperialism.)

Lying about Christianity has always found a willing audience among the marginalized hate mongers of society and this has always been able, sometimes, to creep into mainstream thought.  Perhaps the best example is when Daniel Boorstin, Librarian of Congress and an eminently respected scholar.  Yet in his book, The Discoverers, Boorstin  not only unthinkingly the utterly false notion that Medieval Christians opposed Columbus sailing across the Atlantic Ocean because they thought he would fall off the edge of the world, but he restates that as historical fact.

That such a supposedly learned man could believe the preposterous and easily disproved “Flat Earth” myth shows how reflexive disdain for Christianity can be. For the record, scholars in Medieval Christendom opposed Columbus sailing west to find India and China because they believed that Columbus, accepting the flawed calculations of Moslem and other non-Christian scholars that the Earth was much smaller than Christians knew that he would run out of water and food before reaching India or China:  they were absolutely right; their calculation of the circumference of the Earth was the best in the world; and Columbus were very lucky to find a hemisphere, which he incorrectly thought was India (all recounted in more detail in my book, Sinisterism: Secular Religion of the Lie.)

Also, for the record, Boorstin was not a liar or scoundrel.  He was the victim of liars and scoundrels and other forms of Sinisterists who had deliberately created in the Nineteenth Century undercurrent of pseudo-history that Christians – and Christians alone - did not invent modern science, but were rather ignorant oppressors of intellectual inquiry.

Just about the same time in history that the worst libels about Jews were being concocted into pseudo-history and pseudo-science, the worst libels about Christians were also being concocted.  Is it a surprise that the authors of The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion are the same sort of people who are the authors of the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Da Vinci?  It should not be.  No one can hate Judaism and Christianity without also worshipping lies.
