Illegal Immigration

Thoughts on illegal immigration and Arizona.

In 1907, Theodore Roosevelt said:

In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American ... There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag ... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.

Not much to add to that, is there? I might add, we have room for but one view of government, that being the government prescribed by our Constitution.

No room for "progressivism" or "socialism" or "Marxism" or "fascism" or any other of the variants of governmental tyranny being taught by Leftist teachers and college professors.

Regarding Arizona, I would like those who think the new Arizona immigration law is bad to consider that it applies equally to all illegal immigrants, whether from Mexico, or Denmark, or Russia, or any other nation. Had the federal government done its job, such laws would be unnecessary.

By what rationale do we condone "illegal" anything?

Our government is compelled by our Constitution to defend our country. In its abysmal failure to control illegal immigration (and this goes back decades and includes both Democrat and GOP administrations), our national political leaders are ignoring their constitutionally-mandated requirement to diligently protect our borders.

When your elected representatives fail to perform fundamental constitutional duties, the remedy is to replace them.

November is coming.

Biography - Bob Webster

Author of "Looking Out the Window", an evidence-based examination of the "climate change" issue, Bob Webster, is a 12th-generation descendent of both the Darte family (Connecticut, 1630s) and the Webster family (Massachusetts, 1630s). He is a descendant of Daniel Webster's father, Revolutionary War patriot Ebenezer Webster, who served with General Washington. Bob has always had a strong interest in early American history, our Constitution, U.S. politics, and law. Politically he is a constitutional republican with objectivist and libertarian roots. He has faith in the ultimate triumph of truth and reason over deception and emotion. He is a strong believer in our Constitution as written and views the abandonment of constitutional restraint by the regressive Progressive movement as a great danger to our Republic. His favorite novel is Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand and believes it should be required reading for all high school students so they can appreciate the cost of tolerating the growth of unconstitutional crushingly powerful central government. He strongly believes, as our Constitution enshrines, that the interests of the individual should be held superior to the interests of the state.

A lifelong interest in meteorology and climatology spurred his strong interest in science. Bob earned his degree in Mathematics at Virginia Tech, graduating in 1964.
