Democrats to Place US Troops in National Guard Border Position

The US National Guard has been insanely prohibited from using its weapons against armed drug dealers and others at the US-Mexico border. They have been warned that they are to only provide support for the US Border Patrol. This dictate came from the US government and, presumably, the Mexican government as well. Now, Democrat leaders are planning to apply this policy to US troops fighting terrorists in Iraq.

In an attempt to usurp and end the Executive branch of government’s Constitutional powers and ability to wage wars, Democrats are planning to issue legislation that would take all US troops out of a combat role and place them into the tenuous and hazardous position of a ‘support role’—only. Note: We presume this attempt to seize power from the President of the United States only applies to Republican presidents.

The ubiquitous Senator Carl Levin (D-MI), who is now Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, is leading the Democrats’ charge against our troops—from the Senate side. Levin announced the Democrat plan to place US troops in additional harm’s way on Chris Wallace’s FoxNews Sunday. Remember that it was just a few days ago that now leftist anti-war Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) announced his “plan” to stop congressional support and funding of US troops, when he told the leftist anti-war coalition MoveCongress.org: “They [our troops] won't be able to continue. They won't be able to do the deployment. They won't have the equipment, they don't have the training and they won't be able to do the work. There's no question in my mind ... we're going to stop this surge!”

With both their rhetoric and actions, Democrats continue to show the world that they are against the US and fully in agreement and alignment with the terrorists’ mission and goals. Don’t forget that it was Islamic terrorist leaders who “warned” the American people to vote Democrats back into power in 2006—or else. Unfortunately, even though Democrats now control both Congressional houses, the “or else” is still with us—and coming from the elected Democrats. Congress has the charter to withhold funding for any number of things—including wars. But, it does not have the right to commandeer the US Constitution’s powers designated to each of the three branches of government—this includes the Executive branch’s constitutional and sole provision to wage war. The Democratically controlled Congress, however, seems bent upon ignoring this provision. It has decided to affect an overthrow of this presidential power, with its ultimate goal of micromanaging the Iraq war and any and all future wars.

The US Constitution has recently been under increasing fire from both politicians and jurists—even from the US Supreme Court. If the Constitution does not allow the legislation or judicial rulings politicians and jurists want, they simply ignore it. Or, in the case of the Kelo v. City of New London, the judicial branch writes its own legislation that unconstitutionally changes it. Note: The judicial branch is not allowed, by the US Constitution, to write laws. However, as it is the highest court in the US that affected the unlawful ruling of changing Amendment V’s eminent domain clause, appeals are now impossible.

Perhaps taking its cue from SCOTUS, Congressional Democrats have now made the decision to challenge the Executive branch’s constitutional powers—in a true coup d'état manner. Note: With the recent termination of the Constitution’s public-use eminent domain clause, the Executive and Legislative branches refusing to protect US borders from foreign invasion and then prosecute US Border Patrol Agents and at least one Texas Deputy Sheriff for following the dictates of their jobs as well as protecting their own lives against these invaders is it any wonder that Democrats are emboldened? The US Constitution is no longer being followed by any of our governmental branches! Why should the Democrats feel obliged to pay it any attention? Our Constitution and way of life are in jeopardy, today, as they have not been since the founding of our country.

But, there is one ray of light and at least one truth has come from the Democrats of late. When they continue to insist “we support the troops but, not the war,” they have now firmly told us they’re lying. So—what else is new?
