They Are Dropping Like Flies

President Barack Obama wowed his fawning supporters this past week by killing a fly. Oh the dexterity. Oh the raw talent. Oh the humility as he calmly proclaimed, taking a tissue and scooping up fly guts, that he cleans up after himself. He even got props for being some Mr. Miyagi like sensei knowing the way to inner peace.

But what seems to have been entirely missed is that what Obama was really doing was sending a strong message to those that dare cross him and that his fly swatting was a metaphor for how he would continue running this nation moving forward. Gerald Walpin learned exactly what it meant to tread into such dangerous territory such as working against President Obama and those that support him when he was summarily fired from his post as Inspector General of Americorps for doing his job and watching over those accepting our money. In one mighty swipe President Obama reached out and swatted Mr. Walpin down for his defiance.

Proving once against that not only does President Obama think he is above the law but that he is also above his own law that he himself supported, the President fired Mr. Walpin who had become a thorn in the side of Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson. Mr. Johnson, who is a big Obama supporter, had been forced to repay hundreds of thousands in tax payer dollars that had gone missing. You know, “missing” as funds often do when thrown about willy-nilly in to the hands of liberals. But the President did all this while ignoring the thirty day rule he himself co-sponsored while in the Senate and only gave Mr. Walpin just an hour to clean out his desk, resign or be fired.

Then when it started to get around that there really was no reason to fire Mr. Walpin, other than for the political reason of him stepping on Obama’s toes, the Obama administration turned to the Clinton-era tactics used to defend Slick Willy against the woman that were accusing him of being a philanderer and rapist. At the time, the popular excuse to shove such allegations under the rug was the “nuts or sluts” defense. In other words that these women were just crazies or they asked for it. With a letter the Obama Administration justified the firing, even against the thirty day rule, by claiming that Walpin was disoriented and unable to perform his duties reinstituting the “nuts” part of this strategy. And thus Obama said without words that he was indeed capable of cleaning up after himself as he tried to scoop up and dispose of the issue.

However this charge has since been refuted by not only a look at his history, the facts and by viewing Mr. Walpin in a myriad of interviews since the incident where he appears eminently in control of faculties. Also insiders familiar with the situation have publicly called such charges false. In fact, once again, the only reason that is viable for Mr. Walpin’s firing is that he was beating Friends of Obama over the head and making him look bad.

So much for transparency and bringing a “change” to Washington huh? In reality it is just the same old same old except with a little extra gusto in cracking the whip in defense of political allies no matter what wrongs they might be committing.

Walpin is just the latest to feel the fly swatter. Already we have a trail of dead flies laying in the wake of President Obama. Rick Wagoner was one of the first to be swatted as Obama knocked him out of General Motors. But perhaps the biggest fly to be swatted thus far is the United States Constitution itself which not only has been summarily swatted but also ground underfoot with everything from spending money to unconstitutionally buy stakes in private companies to threats of getting involved in the health care system of this nation.

The Chicago-way is alive and well it seems, just relocated a little bit further east. And a lot more flies will be swatted. You can count on that.
