Simply A Diva Who Wants Just One Jet Plane, So? What's Wrong With That?
In America, everyone has the opportunity to become wealthy. In our country millionaires and billionaires thrive because of opportunity afforded our citizenry. Monetary means can be gained under our capitalistic system. Most of America's amply-rich are self-made, hard working entrepreneurs.
If you stay in school and live a decent life, you also can obtain the American dream. Becoming successful in life no longer has anything to do with one's race, creed or color; it has to do with one's personal goals and achievements, and how high one sets the bar.
How interesting that many of our wealthy liberal legislators want to tax and spend our money to give to someone else. Being obligated to relinquish one's hard-earned resources to others is called socialism. Democrats call it "sharing the wealth." In everyday vernacular it is called "picking your pockets." Americans are very charitable and giving to those in need. There are many faith-based charities that are utilized to facilitate this every day.
Using the word "shameful" to describe Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is mild in the extreme. She has the unmitigated gall asking for an extremely pricey jet to flit back and forth in luxury. Indeed, what hypocrisy. What was that about draining a swamp and changing the appearances of questionable doings on the 'Hill? What a sad commentary about those who live in glass houses.
Our country is a war against terrorism. We need every dime we can spare in this fight. However, Princess Pelosi wants a big expensive toy that no one else has "ever asked for." She will probably get what she desires.
Many believe Nancy Pelosi wants to appear more valuable and esteemed than she actually is. She is most certainly not the president or the vice president. The lady is Speaker of the House, flying to and from her California district, not Dr. Condoleezza Rice who really flies to dangerous places all over the world.
Far left extremists like Nancy Pelosi have a goal. Their job is not to work with the man in the oval office. Pelosi and her ilk merely want to continue trying to diminish the importance of "this presidency." In doing so Democrats demoralize all Americans, as well as our brave troops serving in Iraq, whose work in Iraq is superlative.
There is no doubt Pelosi and her greedy fellow travelers will continue to debate and toss threats about. Senate Democrats will consider an Anti-war Bill with "teeth that will bite." If acted upon, this bill would kick us all in the derriere.
Our troops are ready to execute an extremely important job in Iraq. Do they also have to contend with Democrats' self-serving, mean spirited, contemptuous behavior while listening to their scoffing defeatist words?
No matter what is offered, there will be no appeasing the diva. She'll do what the far left does best: Undermining our country while continuing to politicize the Iraqi war along with every other perceived politically-driven problem. Every week there is a new "disaster" for which the President is given blame.
Don't count on the "drive-by media" to put a spotlight on this inappropriate spender. I suppose we are to look the other way as Pelosi and her gang of moneygrabbers use the public coffers for unnecessary reasons. Goodness knows the House Speaker is used to enjoying the very best.
The plane is totally her own pricey fancy, as are the pearls she wears. It's estimated the pearls worn the day Bush introduced her as "Madam Speaker" cost the uptown millionaires anywhere from $20,000 to $80,000.
Excerpts from Associated Press:
GOP Bristles at Pelosi Plane Request
WASHINGTON — Republicans on Wednesday assailed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's request for access to an Air Force transport plane as an extravagance, though former Speaker Dennis Hastert flew in a military jet as well.
Republicans are taking issue with the size of the plane Pelosi has requested. Pelosi had asked for access to a C-32 plane, a military version of the Boeing 757-200.
A Defense Department spokesman said Wednesday that the Pentagon informed Pelosi's staff that she would be provided with a plane but that its size would be based on availability.
After the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the Pentagon agreed to provide the House speaker, who is second in the line of presidential succession, with a military plane for added security during trips back home.
Hastert, an Illinois Republican, flew in a commuter-sized jet. Pelosi and her aides say that because her congressional district is in California, her security would require a larger plane that can fly coast to coast "without refueling."
"It's not a question of size, it's a question of distance," Pelosi said Wednesday. "We want an aircraft that can reach California."
The Los Angeles Times reports that the military passenger plane used by House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL) can make a cross-country flight in any weather. The jet also provides the communications needed to stay in contact with the White House.
Certain smaller military aircraft can also be refueled in midair, by the way. When all is said and done, the well-coiffed Pelosi will no doubt get her plane. It will seat over one hundred and forty people. She is obsessively plying for everyone's full attention, and with a plane like that, she can invite the entire elite media core. American taxpayers will cover the bill to the tune of $22,000 per hour as Pelosi flies from her district to Washington D.C.
She's simply a diva who wants just one jet plane. So? What's wrong with that?
