Given what President Bush said when he spoke to the American citizenry, the response that followed from the National Democrat Party should not have been surprising. Their specialty is a constant barrage of investigative congressional hearings and assorted faultfinding committees. One wonders if anything good can come from the mouth of Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

A courageous man named General David Petraeus presented a truthful report to the Congress about progress of the U.S. troop surge in Iraq. Unfortunately, the Democrat Party decided to use it as an opportunity not to glean knowledge, but to besmirch a hero. To do so, they used the arm of an Internet-based political group that was founded under the Clinton administration.

MoveOn.org took out a scandalous ad in the New York Times: "General Petraeus or General Betray Us?" Are you surprised more by the childish word-play or the antagonism itself? Why this level of deceit on the part of the far Left? Why must their feelings for their country, the troops, and our Commander-in-Chief rise to the level of hate?

The eyes of many are beginning to open; in the terror war, it is not unreasonable to view the Democrat Party as America's "other" enemy. When folks hear the very same rhetoric the far Left uses spewing out of Osama bin Laden's profane mouth, they can't help but see the threat they also pose. A house divided instills boldness within the Jihadist's mind. "We must sacrifice our lives to attack the enemy," according to bin Laden. Similarly, it seems the Democrats are willing to sacrifice the country.

It is painfully obvious that terrorists would rather have a weak Democrat in the White House than a man such a President Bush, who has never waffled about the War on Terror. The opposition party has no concern that it may be weakening us by fomenting a dangerous division amongst the American people during a time of war. There truly is no rationality for their traitorous ways.

The Leftist media perpetuates and facilitates those who are of a like mindset. The days of reporting news to inform the American public are long gone. The new leaders of the once-great party of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Grover Cleveland and John Fitzgerald Kennedy have become whores for political power who are shameless about the way they achieve it.

Emanating from a strident and arrogant position, we've heard contention, of strife and a disparaging partisanship that has severely compromised our nation. To think that the far Left gangsters of the Democrat party envision themselves as leaders of our country is unnerving and frightening. If you have not familiarized yourself with a blog named the Daily Kos: State of the Nation, you must. It belongs to the extremists that the Democrat Party is beholden to. Blue Dog Democrats no longer have a voice within their own party.

Americans have had to contend with unrelenting, disrespectful Bush-bashing since the President was sworn into office more than six years ago. To this very day the Democrat Party displays unmerited enraged ire. It appears that all they have to offer is vitriolic verbalizing and callous and dangerous strategies when it comes to our attempts to secure a lasting peace for Iraq.

Democrats reject Bush's Iraq plan

"WASHINGTON (AFP) — Democrats on Thursday rejected President George W. Bush's plan for gradual troop pullbacks in Iraq, accusing him of laying the ground for an 'endless and unlimited military presence in Iraq.'

"In excerpts from a Democratic rebuttal to Bush's prime-time presidential address, the designated party spokesman Senator Jack Reed vowed his party would redefine the scope of the US mission in Iraq.

"'Tonight, a nation eager for change in Iraq heard the President speak about his plans for the future,' Reed was due to say.

"'But once again, the President failed to provide either a plan to successfully end the war or a convincing rationale to continue it.'

"Reed said Democrats would do what they believe to be in the best interests of the United States and 'redefine' the US mission in Iraq.

"'Do we continue to heed the President's call that all Iraq needs is more time, more of our money, and the indefinite presence of 130,000 American troops — exactly the same number as nine months ago? '

"'An endless and unlimited military presence in Iraq is not an option.'

"Reed's remarks were released by Democrats to counter advance excerpts of the speech Bush was due to give at 9 pm (0100 GMT Friday), which was itself previewed by the White House.

"Bush was to cite signs of political and security progress and embrace plans to pull out an estimated 21,500 US combat troops by mid-2008, in line with recommendations from his war commander General David Petraeus." Full Article

Hearken to the words of the Sunni governor of Anbar Province: "Our tomorrow starts today." Indeed, the people who live in Anbar know it is possible to vanquish the extremists. They are doing so. We can foresee positive days ahead.

However, let there be no misconceptions. Allow a Democrat into the White House and our fate and that of the Iraqi people will turn into a starkly grim and solemn nightmare. Real peace will elude us for decades if not generations.

None of their presidential candidates feel compassion towards the Iraqi people nor do they care to. They doublespeak and lie without concern for the enormous bloodbath that would follow if our troops were immediately removed from this fledgling democracy.

Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, John Edwards and Chris Dodd have no concern for consequences as their intentions are to bring the troops home while allowing the inevitable to happen to the innocent, young and old. For that reason, more and more Americans hold less and less respect for those who call themselves "progressive thinkers." We will call them out for who they are — irresponsible, misguided and dangerous fools.
