A STAR GAZER’S CREED - THE NIGHTTIME SKY TELLS THE STORY
Christmas was promised to Adam and Eve - our first parents for a very good reason.

The Book of Genesis tells us Adam named the animals. Psalm 147 tells us God named the stars. Ancient Wisdom was passed down in those star names. Yet, God confused the languages of men over the twisted Astrology of Babel, still popular today. In 332 BC, Aristotle complained that Greek mythology was a perversion of Ancient Wisdom. The thread of truth was always there, but we thrill in knowing the error.

The primordial thread of truth, that Ancient Wisdom, was passed down to all men of all time. The Seed of the Woman, the Redeemer, would be wounded in conflict with the evil one, but would crush him. It would take His own pure, blood sacrifice, memorialized until His coming by the ritual offering of an unspotted animal.

Perversion entered into that hope with the murder of Abel by Cain. Civilizations and their infants, virgins and captives have suffered from distorted religion and the poor exercise of Godless man’s free will ever since. But the thread of truth, that eternal hope remained for any who seek it.

All humanity’s belief systems came from an original source – a promise made by God to our first parents. In the endless struggle between good and evil, that hope was misguided and bloodied by our imperfections. We have lived to see that simple, wonderful hope fulfilled. It is the foundation for love and mutual caring among us.

Night-to-night, the brilliant stars revealed the Covenant to countless generations, keeping alive the hope of the promised Redeemer. The star names, symbols and constellations were recorded by wise men of old. As the time of Deliverance drew near, the Covenant was implanted in the Tribes of Israel, in their signs, their symbols, even reflected in their movements. Their prophets recorded it in sacred Scripture.

The Magi astrologers, ones who knew how to read the meaning in the stars, saw signs in the heavens that alerted them to watch for a major happening among the people of Israel. A brilliant star appeared in the Virgo constellation “Comah.” It is the first “Madonna and Child,” pictured in the ancient zodiacs as a virgin girl holding a small boy. He was known as “Shes-Nu”, the Desired One. Astrologers call them “Berenice’s Wig.”

He was born in Bethlehem, as the prophet Micah foretold, in the 65th week of years of the prophet Daniel, of the Tribe of Judah, from whom the scepter would never depart. He died on a Roman cross 33 years later, ending to the day, the 69th week of Daniel the prophet. The stars kept their God-given appointment as two, of the ancient constellation of “Aries, the Lamb”, were visible next to the darkened eclipsed sun as the Redeemer gave up his spirit. The stars, “El Natik” and “Al Sheratan”, meaning “the pierced” and “the bruised”, shown as the Temple curtain was torn in two, and the earth shook in the darkness. The Perfect Sacrificial Lamb had delivered Himself up for sacrifice on our behalf. Isaiah the prophet proclaimed, “...He was wounded for our iniquities, He was bruised for our sins. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and by His bruises, we are healed.”

48 ancient constellations in the sky and 200 star names tell the story of redemption. Its order solves “the Riddle of the Sphinx”, which in earlier times had the face of a woman with the body of a lion, according to some Egyptologists,. In the Temple of Esneh, there is a zodiac circle around the base of its dome with a woman-faced Sphinx resting between Virgo and Leo, thereby showing where the story told in the stars is bound together – where it starts and where it ends.

Modern astrologers still promote the perversion of ancient wisdom Aristotle mourned over. That ancient wisdom is the plan of redemption handed down by generation by oral tradition read from the stars from Adam and Eve to the Hebrew Prophets. The ancient star names and constellation names and their astronomical positions tell the whole story. They make it clear that even pagan religions and human sacrifice were terrible perversions of the First Covenant. Mankind’s blessed hope of the ultimate pure blood sacrifice was never lost among those who sought the love of God.

This hope, embodied in Jesus the Christ, was passed down through the ages, into the Abrahamic covenant, first to the Jew, then to the Gentile, fulfilled in the Child the Magi sought and found. Muslims too, believe in the virgin birth of Christ and hold his Mother Mary to be the greatest woman in all history. Perhaps she is the ultimate vehicle of peace among us to bring to an end human sacrifice of all stripes.

Rejoice in his birth, the Word of God becoming flesh, to become sin for us, to offer Himself as the perfection of the Levitical priesthood. Rejoice that He died, rose, and will come again to the ecstatic Jew who sees his hope fulfilled, and to the grafted in Gentile to be wed forever in Him. Rejoice in your personal decision to know, love and serve Him! HAPPY CHRISTMAS! Paraphrased from God’s Prophetic Zodiac © 2007 Gerald V. Todd.
