Drowning In the Stream of Consciousness

The educational system is not satisfactorily teaching critical thinking.

Schools should be in the business of conveying information, but all too often liberals believe they should encourage students to "explore possibilities." This is code language for indoctrinating children into permissive sexual attitudes. Kevin Jennings wants your kid to experiment with homosexuality, and the younger the better. This is the man President Obama made Safe Schools Czar.

For at least ten years, educators have railed against rote memorization. Young people are becoming dependent on computers for research. As a result, the line between information and propaganda is getting fuzzier.

Americans are increasingly fascinated with nonsense. The History Channel is replete with programs about non-existent prophesies and apocalypse fantasies. The election of Al Franken is understandable when you consider the fact that the same people elected a conspiracy theorizing lunatic as their governor, who now peddles his wares on TruTV. Our ability to analyze facts is in jeopardy. Read the average opinion piece in the newspaper. I read one recently that was nothing but slogans and glittering generalities.

American schools need to stop encouraging people to be free spirits and start encouraging them to be independent thinkers, or our republican government is doomed.
