Are Voters So Shallow That Superstorm Sandy Can Change An Election?
There is no question that superstorm Sandy slowed Mitt Romney's momentum. But why? Fortunately, it appears the American voter has regained enthusiasm for the desperately-needed change in Washington as Romney's final poll numbers were, once again, on the rise.
The final week of the 2012 election witnessed a resurgence of polling data in favor of Obama based solely on his photo-op exposure in the aftermath of superstorm Sandy. Yet his efforts were feeble and wholly inadequate to meet the pressing needs of those adversely affected by the storm. Making one brief visit with New Jersey's governor Christie, Obama did little to really address the monumental devastation brought by Sandy. Christie's extreme "over the top" performance in gushing over the appearance of Obama may have propelled a false image of Obama across the nation that lead people to conclude Obama actually made a serious effort to bring the full assets of the US Government to the support of those in desperate need. Of course, the reality is quite different, as Obama's hasty trip to Nevada to resume campaigning revealed.
Can one temporary event erase four years of a singularly disgraceful record?
Are Americans really so shallow that they would opt for four more years of malaise because of a photo-op in the wake of superstorm Sandy?
With absolutely no ability nor record of accomplishment, will Obama benefit from the naiveté of this once-great nation as it simply succumbs to a grossly biased news media's distorted view of this President?
There can be no doubt that Mitt Romney is precisely what this nation needs at this very critical time in our history.
If our nation continues "forward" on the same path, failing to maturely and robustly address the problems of massive debt, declining standards of living, chronic unemployment, and the obscenity known as Obamacare that threatens to destroy our nation's health care system, then at least two or three more generations of Americans can expect to experience the worst economic conditions this nation has ever experienced.
This nation needs a return to open, honest and effective leadership that can be trusted to neither abandon Americans under attack overseas nor ignore those under severe economic conditions at home. By failing to seize the opportunity we have to make the changes in the Senate and Presidency that this nation desperately needs, our nation will certainly experience the continued decline and fall of American greatness, American leadership, American exceptionalism, and American freedoms.
Is it likely this nation will choose the wrong path simply because of good press our failure of a President received in the aftermath of a freak storm?
I do believe Divine Providence was at work with the appearance of superstorm Sandy at the very moment when it could have the greatest impact on the most important election in the history of the United States. Mitt Romney had momentum and was on the brink of putting this election away as people realized in growing numbers the stark contrast between Romney's intelligent plan to restore America and Obama's plan to continue down the path of class warfare and dividing the people.
Sandy's occurrence was not designed to boost Obama's election chances. Sandy provided a "test" -- a real opportunity for American voters to demonstrate their maturity by keeping their focus on what is more important to this nation's future. President Obama's photo-op tour with Governor Christie was a key part of this test to help Americans realize that there is a great deal of difference between a candidate that goes through the motions and one who actually took action to help victims of the storm.
While Obama was basking in the glory of good press coverage enhanced by Christie's embarrassing fawning, Romney was helping to organize collection drives for people to assemble needed food, supplies, and materials for storm victims. Obama did not do what any thoughtful and dedicated President would have done. He did not stay in Washington to direct the full resources of the DoD to be swiftly put into action to aid victims of the devastation in the wake of Sandy. Instead, Obama simply made his cameo appearance and then quickly jetted off to Nevada to resume campaigning, evidently expecting FEMA to pick up the slack he left behind.
Should American voters fail this test today by re-electing a man who is arguably the very worst President in this nation's history, then this nation will richly deserve the economic and cultural disaster it will endure.
Are America voters really that shallow?
We'll all know Wednesday morning.
Should the unthinkable happen and Obama win another term, life will not go on with "business as usual."
What to expect following an Obama re-election:
Over the next few years massive numbers of physicians will either retire or move to "concierge" services and drop out of serving Medicare and Medicaid patients. If people have any hope to get prompt and effective medical care, they will have to pay out of pocket annually to join a physician's select "concierge" clientele. That will mean a payment of thousands of dollars up front for annual services. Those left behind will be relegated to "Obamacare" treatment, which will mean long delays, less capable physicians, and denial of needed treatment. And it will still cost more to the nation as a whole.
Expect almost immediate jumps in unemployment. Many businesses anticipating a change in Washington that would save our economy will simply close rather than try to eke out an existence under the massive regulatory burden of the Obama nation. Expect another recession so deep and enduring that it will overwhelm the Great Depression to be the worst economic malaise in our nation's history. This will come on rapidly as business owners cut their loses by closing while costs begin to skyrocket from the combined pressures of low supplies and rapid inflation.
Expect pent up inflationary pressure to burst out with massive inflation as hyper-inflation becomes a real threat. Those few who still have jobs will be hard-pressed to see their salaries keep pace with rapidly rising prices. Retired people on fixed incomes will join the ever-expanding ranks of those in poverty and in need of food stamps.
Expect more massive federal spending of money that doesn't exist. So expect more massive "quantitative easing" (printing money for which their is no backing) that puts even greater inflationary pressure into what remains of our economy.
Expect the US auto industry to collapse as demand for new cars implodes under the weight of astronomical price increases for both new cars and the fuel to drive them.
Expect further declines in the US bond rating that began under Obama.
Expect greater pressure for federal services to the poor and unemployed as more and more Americans fall into those categories, taking more and more revenue out of the federal government as tax collections drop and demands for food and services increase.
Expect sporadic violence to break out as more people are driven to desperate measures just to survive.
Expect less and less opportunity for young people coming out of high school, trade school, and colleges. There will be less opportunity for young people to attend university as prices increase and the value of a college degree decreases.
Expect less demand for people with higher degrees as the need for basic skills becomes critical with too few to support the need. What few jobs there are will shift form skilled professionals to areas relating to the basics of living -- providing food, shelter, and energy.
Expect rioting and civil unrest, with quasi-military "peace-keeping" actions from the newly-created Obamacorps of young people ostensibly to deal with disasters, both natural and human-caused.
In short, should this nation's voters be so short-sighted and disconnected from reality that they would re-elect the absolute worst president this nation has ever endured, then expect a total collapse of the United States of America within a relatively few years.
What will follow the collapse is anybody's guess, but several things are certain. It will NOT be pleasant. It will NOT include individual freedom. It will result in the deaths of millions. It will follow the same path taken by all of history's tyrants.
To avoid this disaster, we need only wake up and cast our votes wisely.
Vote for the Mitt Romney-Paul Ryan ticket for President and Vice President.
Vote for the Republican candidate for Senate in your state. This is critical for the repeal of Obamacare.
Now, you know what to do. Go do it and do it enthusiastically and Divine Providence will once again smile on our nation.
