Michelle Malkin and Culture of Corruption Can't Be Discredited
It's an awesome book, because it combines substance and style and sets forth what the liberal media establishment does not report that Americans need to know.
Michelle Malkin is much brighter and bolder than Bill O'Reilly and not buffoonish like Glenn Beck.
She's also a first generation American, a happily married mother of two with conservative values and a very attractive young lady of Filipine ancestry.
The Far Left finds Ms. Malkin far too formidable and thus reflexively resorts to baseless personal attacks against her because they can't refute her on the facts and don't want people paying attention to her.
Ms. Malkin is so threatening to the Far Left that it is even trying to drive down the average customer review rating of America's latest no. 1 best seller, Culture of Corruption: Obama and His Team of Tax Cheats, Crooks, and Cronies.
Currently there are 107 customer reviews at www.amazon.com , which uses a one to five star rating system.
For Culture of Corruption, a bell-shaped curve is out of the question. There are 49 five stars, 5 four stars, 3 three stars, 3 two stars and 47 one stars.
It's an awesome book, because it combines substance and style and sets forth what the liberal media establishment does not report that Americans need to know.
At Laura Ingraham's website (www.lauraingrahm.com), this Power to the People Alert on "HOW TO STOP OBAMACARE!" is posted: "If you believe that Obamacare will eventually destroy your freedom of choice in healthcare but don't know how to get involved, please log on to http://joinpatientsfirst.com/the_ad so that more of our fellow citizens can hear the truth about health care in America. This effort is organized through Americans for Prosperity with the sole goal of WINNING the health care debate. We all need to donate what we can to fund the ad campaigns that are informing Americans coast-to-coast about the disastrous impact that Obamacare will have on us and future generations. Please do not delay--we haven't a moment to waste."It's an awesome book, because it combines substance and style and sets forth what the liberal media establishment does not report that Americans need to know.
That's helpful.
But in order to preserve America, "our fellow citizens" need to learn the truth about President Obama. Then they will appreciate what he and his wife intend to do to transform America.
Ms. Malkin provided plenty of that truth in Culture of Corruption.
Change may be good OR bad.
The United States has the best health care system in the world, but Obama wants to move toward socialized medicine as fast as possible.
That's because he wants to perpetuate political power by increasing the power of government and the people's dependency on government.
The Communists could not conquer the USA militarily, so they tried subversion and deception: contaminate the education system, rewrite history to separate religion and politics as much as possible, pretend that the Founding Fathers were really atheists or deists so America was not founded as a Christian nation, excoriate religion and religious values as things to be kept in the closet (if anywhere), extol secular extremism and multiculturalism, substitute government-created rights to death, government-provided security and "equality" of circumstance through affirmative action and "reparations" for God-given rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and create ACORN to organize the poor as political pawns and "muscle" in a campaign to win political control, by means both fair and foul.
Obama is ACORN's and SEIU's choice because he is willing to implement as much of their agenda as possible (regardless of where he was born). He has carefully cultivated a non-threatening, Ivy League, "cool," young, hopeful, smart, half-black but also half white image that let him con enough voters with the cooperation of the liberal media establishment.
The Reagan years set the Communists back and ACORN-backed Clinton did not have the kind of political power needed to be transformative, but the ACORN-created financial crisis, media malevolence, bad Republican campaign strategy and typical discontent with war (the British voted Churchill out of power before World War Ii finally ended) let Obama win much bigger than Clinton ever did and created the real possibility of catastrophic change.
The liberal media establishment made Obama president by failing to scrutinize him and/or covering up for him and pretending that he was not the radical he is. Non-partisan National Journal rated Obama the most liberal United States Senator (even more liberal than avowed Socialist Bernie Sanders of Vermont) because he earned that designation, by his votes.
Ms. Malkin's Culture of Corruption: Obama and His Team of Tax Cheats, Crooks, and Cronies trumps Obama fiction with facts.
From the Inside Flap
"The era of hope and change is dead....and it only took six months in office to kill it.
"Never has an administration taken office with more inflated expectations of turning Washington around. Never have a media-anointed American Idol and his entourage fallen so fast and hard. In her latest investigative tour de force, New York Times bestselling author Michelle Malkin delivers a powerful, damning, and comprehensive indictment of the culture of corruption that surrounds Team Obama's brazen tax evaders, Wall Street cronies, petty crooks, slum lords, and business-as-usual influence peddlers.
In Culture of Corruption, Malkin reveals:
* Why nepotism beneficiaries First Lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden are Team Obama's biggest liberal hypocrites--bashing the corporate world and influence-peddling industries from which they and their relatives have benefited mightily
* What secrets the ethics-deficient members of Obama's cabinet--including Hillary Clinton--are trying to hide
* Why the Obama White House has more power-hungry, unaccountable 'czars' than any other administration
* How Team Obama's first one hundred days of appointments became a litany of embarrassments as would-be appointee after would-be appointee was exposed as a tax cheat or had to withdraw for other reasons
* How Obama's old ACORN and union cronies have squandered millions of taxpayer dollars and dues money to enrich themselves and expand their power
* How Obama's Wall Street money men and corporate lobbyists are ruining the economy and helping their friends
"In Culture of Corruption, Michelle Malkin lays bare the Obama administration's seamy underside that the liberal media would rather keep hidden."
Reviews at www.amazon.com are illuminating (and many tell more about the reviewer than the book or the author).
Here are some.
M. Scott: "I bought this book yesterday, and could not put it down. There was a lot of information in it that I had heard on the news, and a lot I did not know about. Seeing it all together made me angry, and left me wondering how we, as a people, can take our country back from the crooked politicians who enter 'public' service solely to get rich. It's disgusting. Obama had a lot of pretty words during his campaign, but he is absolutely just as corrupt as the worst career politician. And the people he has surrounded himself with are there for their own enrichment. These people want to control every aspect of our society, and they do not care anything about the best interests of the people. People need to stop being apathetic, and pay attention to what's going on. Obama and his Democratic congress plan to change our government and society in ways I suspect many people can't even imagine."
Robert A. Briggs:
"I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. As I read I began to think of how the left would come back and challenge the extensive references that Michelle included in the back of the book. Reading some of the reviews here I can see that none of the negative reviewers have offered explanations or other references to refute her statements. Typical of the 'open minded thinking' of the left. Throw stones and run before anyone can confront you with the truth.
"Keep up the great work Michelle, we need more good solid facts in books like this."
"Music Police": "A great read ... scary and informative. If you want to know what makes the Obama machine tick, it's all here!! Notice the Left wing loonies review this book with 1 star (without reading it of course) to scare you off, but they fear the truth. That's what scares them! Buy it while you can."
J. Pringle: "It didn't take long for The One's hyper-inflated blimp to start sinking. Michelle obviously had a wealth of material for her book, a brilliant chronicle of the oddest, most sinister, yet most inept administration of anyone's lifetime (and yes, that includes Mr. Nixon). Dear Leader himself is a smooth but gutless wonder; given the fact that he's got years left to dabble in the wish lists of Soros and Saul Alinsky, Michelle Malkin will have to make this book the first in a series."
"NY Andy": "So far I've only read excerpts but from the reaction of the left, the rest has just got to be worth a read. In the possibly mangled words of William Shakespeare, 'methinks thou dost protest too much'. Michelle must have really hit a raw nerve and, of course, the truth to make them so hostile."
Wayne Stevens: "I just don't get the fact that Malkin wrote around 400 pages on how bad the clown and his ilk in the white house have destroyed the economy, took over private businesses, and wants to take over the health care system and everything else he can get his hands on, and it has only been 6 months and these brain dead obama butt kissers can't see what's going on! Are you libs that freakin stupid?! Read this book and get some education. Just one more question for all the brain dead libs. Hows that hope and change working for ya?!"
Carol A. Summerfield: "Ms. Malkin did her homework and the facts, figures, and resource information presented in this cogent, well crafted, invaluable book make for a must read. Culture of Corruption will confirm what many have long suspected about this president and his administration, or will be a real eye opener for Obama supporters who went along for the ride for no other reason than the catchy slogans and still don't get why they ought to be alarmed. As an aside - this illuminating book dovetails handsomely with the important work Ms. Malkin does every day on her blog site keeping the citizenry informed. Thank you Ms. Malkin and keep on fighting the good fight."
Judah Levi:
"I can almost guarantee that those who rated this one star did not even read the book but are doing so purely for political reasons. They really need to get a life.
"Michelle Malkin is one of the most courageous and articulate writers in the country. The hate mail she gets is horrific, full of racial epithets and name-calling from so-called tolerant and loving liberals. Nonetheless, she tells it like it is - damn the consequences. That takes a tremendous amount of courage.
"This book will open your eyes to the Chicago connection and power politics which are already showing up in the Obama administration. President Obama, as we have all learned, has quite an ego and does not take kindly to adversity or differences in opinion. With his Chief of Staff as the pitbull enforcer, Obama is trying to rule from the hard left even though he ran as more of a centrist to get votes.
"I recommend this book for anyone who still has rose-colored glasses on thinking that the last election was only about "hope and change." As the saying goes, "The more things change, the more they remain the same." Obama's administration appears in the book to simply be Chicago old-style politics moving to Washington D.C.
"Great reading!"
"BusyHomeSchoolMom": "Michelle Malkin is a very intelligent lady who does a great deal of research for her writing. If she says it you know she can back it up. Thank you for daring to expose the graft and corruption in this administration! Contrary to the opinion of some- sitting on our hands and ignoring it will not make it go away. It takes a great deal of courage to stand up to such a malicious group of pretenders. Great book!"
"A reader":
"Michelle Malkin may look like a cheerleader...but she plays like a tackle.
"Michelle Malkin is my favorite columnist, appearing the New York Post. In this book she looks at President Obama and his administration under a light that most of the rest of the media still refuse or fail to see, perhaps blinded by the glow of the halo that they placed over him early in the campaign.
"She has done a tremendous amount of research; simply put, no one could make this up. An underlying theme is one of promises quickly forgotten: such as no former lobbyists in the administration (there are 17 of them, each made an exception by the President), and that every bill would be posted on the White House website for at least five days before President Obama would sign it. Chapter 2 was big surprise: the First Lady is much closer to Chicago machine politics than she is to perfection. Footnotes document the source...of every statement of fact (some would not pass academic muster, but Ms. Malkin is simply stating where she got the information).
"This is a good book--destined to be written off as a right-wing screed by the mainstream media and others, but it isn't. (Her criticism of government was bipartisan in In Defense of Internment: The World War II Round-Up and What It Means For America's War on Terror and Invasion: How America Still Welcomes Terrorists, Criminals, and Other Foreign Menaces to Our Shores.) Rather, this book is kind of disturbing and and even a bit depressing, channeling a reader's disappointment in how fast the present administration has gone south. Labeling the Obama Adminstration as a culture of corruption, tax cheats, crooks and cronies seems to be a harsh assesment at first, but I think--in the final analysis--that the phrase sums things up pretty well. The candidate of change, Ms. Malkin writes, delivered a Clinton II administration, with the added spectacle of candidate after candidate for cabinet posts dropping out for one embarrassing reason or another.
"Ms. Malkin has done a great job. (And she left Matt Lauer speechless on the Today show this morning)."
Joseph Romero Jr.:
"I ENJOYED READING THIS BOOK VERY MUCH BECAUSE OF IT's FACTUAL, ACCURATE & TRUTHFUL CONTENT. Those with opposing views are going to have a hard time refuting the facts and truths found in this book. In my humble opinion, Mrs Malkin is an outstanding, talented, passionate writer, author, columnist, commentator and researcher. She is never afraid to speak what she proves to be the truth and always accurately researches 'all her books extremely well', using logic, reason, common-sense and honest facts. With this book the reader will find only statements of 'facts', not speculation or innuendo. Whether you agree or disagree with her politically, and with this book specifically, is your right as an American citizen. The obligation to inform the mis-informed and to guide the mis-guided is an intellectual obligation and the duty of every reasonable person, regardless of political preference. To every individual who desires to read this book please do so fairly. For those who disagree please be dignified and respectful. Personal attacks are for the ignorant. Form your own opinions, views and ideas, regardless of your political leanings, in a logical, reasonable, two-sided, open-minded, fair and balanced manner. I find if you acknowledge and recognize your own personal, political, professional and intellectual biases (in advance) you'll be able to review this book utilizing your common-sense and intellect in a partnership you will find pleasing. The quote of Bess Myerson says it all, 'The accomplice to the crime of corruption is frequently our own indifference'. So let's struggle to recognize truth when presented to us on a platter full of facts. I am very proud to be a fan and to have purchased all of Mrs Malkin's books for my military history library, both at home and at the university. God Bless Mrs Malkin and her family. I thank her personally for what she does for the United States military personnel and their families. Mrs Malkin is an advocate for the service members of all branches of the American military. Good luck and God Bless to all..."
"Single Chick":
"After eight years of dealing with dumb wannabe hippies equating George Bush to Hitler, Republicans are apparently now supposed to be as fawning of Obama and his minions as the media is. The large number of nasty 'reviews' on this site, all within the last couple of days and by people who CLEARLY have not read the book, shows that the left can dish it out but they obviously can't take it. How dare anyone criticize their savior Obama? As president he deserves our unquestioning support and reverence! No, thanks. I can't tolerate him or his brownshirt comrades, and I owe him nothing. The guy's a slimy pol, just like most of them in D.C., and if any of these screaming Obamaniacs actually READ the book, they would have many examples of his egregious underhanded deals pointed out to them. But, I guess it's easier to just rant and rave and try to silence dissent than it is to admit they've been hoodwinked.
"If you are interested in reading a meticulously researched book about the Obama administration's 'do as I say, not as I do' attitude, Malkin's 'Culture of Corruption' is THE book to read. If you can't stand to have The One criticized, don't buy the book -- just go back to watching MSNBC and swallowing the pablum the media serves up to you every day like a good little lemming."
"Cat":
"This book shows the inside dealings between our government officials and business....and supposed 'non-profits'...etc. Every page has stomach churning details on how corruption is running and ruining this country. We the people need to wake up and demand that all this cronyism stops NOW! We the TAXPAYERS are funding this fraud of a government and it has to stop. This is a eye-opening look into how Government works on all levels and it isn't pretty! I would advise having plently of antacids on hand before you start reading....maybe the publisher should have including a bottle with purchase! It is truly disgusting what is happening in this country.
"Those reading the one star reviews should know when they say that she has no facts ... that .....
"The 'notes' or substantiating documents run from page 293-368 (75 PAGES OF DOCUMENTATION!). The index runs 8 more pages..... Perhaps you one star people should try reading more than left wing websites and talking points.
"READ THIS BOOK AND THEN STAND UP TO THE CORRUPTION AND TELL THEM YOU WON'T STAND FOR IT ANYMORE! FIRE CONGRESS 2010!"
George D. Klein:
"In the fall of 2008, I emailed an attorney friend In Illinois and asked why Illinoisans favored Obama. He wrote back. 'Beats me too. The guy is a montebanc.'
"Michelle Malkin's expose shows how bad it is. It is, in fact, worse than expected and Obama has been in office a tad over six months.
"Malkin slices, dices, dissects and carves through the morass of deception, misspoken statements and deceit by Obama, his wife, his Illinois associates (Blagojevich, Daley), the attorney general, Biden, the secretary of state, his czars, several other cabinet members (including the withdrawn ones), certain labor unions and Acorn, numerous elected officials (Dodd, Conrad), and members of the White House Staff, for openers. To say the 'indiscretions' stink to high heaven is an understatement. And Malkin shows the details, backed with well researched notes, in precise detail.
"I recommend readers buy this book. The future of the country hangs in the balance and it is best to be informed. 'Know thy Enemy.'"
Gary P. Conan:
"I enjoyed Michelle's last book about the angry left: 'Unhinged.' (Sort of like those little trolls who immediately greet any Conservative political book with a negative review on Amazon, despite probably not having read the book. It is doubtful whether they can read at all.)
"This book covers the many scandals we have seen in just the first six months of the Obama administration. (Obama seems to be attempting to break the Clinton's record for political scandals.)
"I find this administration to be the scariest, by far, that I have ever seen. With trillion dollar budgets, stimulus packages, taking over of the automobile industry and attempted take-overs of the banks, his continued attempt to nationalize our health care and the idiotic 'Cap and Trade' bill, there can be no doubt that Obama is attempting to bankrupt this nation and rebuild this country into a socialist paradise from the ground up.
"With the Democrats in control of Congress and the love and assistance of the lapdog media, (did anyone see Meredith Vierra giggling like a love-struck schoolgirl while interviewing Obama on the Today Show recently?) Obama can come close to achieving his goal.
"This book concentrates on the fiscal corruption (like Secretaries of the Treasury who cheat on their taxes.) I find it also disturbing that we have an Attorney General who throws out charges against the Black Panthers for threatening voters at polling places in Philadelphia, supposedly the worst case of voter intimidation since the old days down south. I guess we can expect more of this in the future with this administration and millions of dollars from the stimulus package going to Obama's old friends in ACORN, already being investigated for voter fraud in several states.
"I compliment Michelle Malkin and all those patriots who will not lie down for this administration, unlike the rest of the media. Read this book if you want to learn, in detail, about the incredible corruption of this new administration. I can guarantee you that there is a good chance that you will not be reading about it anywhere else."
"blackhat":
"I wasn't sure I was going to buy this book, but the hysteria she's causing among the Progressives and Marxists tells me it's hit the mark with her typical unerring aim.
"They're the perfect gauge by which to determine a book's worthiness.
"Thanks guys. I'm going to buy it for sure now. And do my little bit to increase Michelle's power, money and influence."
"The Truthteller": "Great job showing how the American people were taken in by a Chicago thug con-man and his wife. America weeps with these two in power."
B. Newman:
"I'm a Libertarian. Did not vote for Bush. Did not vote for Obama. Loved this book. A very important read. So very few of the one-star reviewers appear to have actually read it. The facts are very well documented and footnoted in the book. I'm open to a refutation--I just haven't seen one that involves well-researched information or facts.
"It seems if you consider yourself 'conservative' you're predestined to like this book. If you're 'liberal' predestined to hate it. However, for someone like me, who reads a lot on both sides of the aisle to find a bit of sense somewhere, this is a great and informative read."
W. Lee "Yaki": "Excellent book. Malkin did a great job sourcing her information. Its amusing to see the liberals here giving bad reviews, even many saying she should not be allowed to write this book. Wow, and I thought liberals are suppose to be for rights and freedom. BS, you libs don't give a damn about liberty and freedom. Did my family emigrate from China to escape persecution just to end up in China again? Sure looks like Obama is trying to mold the US into the likes of other totalitarian regimes with his soft tyranny straight out of Sol Alinski (sp) playbook, and 52% of Americans got duped."
Allen R. Steele: "Just because people disagree with the ideology they feel they have the right to make a personal attack on Michelle's work. I find it amusing that when George W. Bush was president, they made personal attacks on him because he had a southern accent and they said he sounded stupid. Maybe he wasn't the best speaker, but luckily the job he had was more than just making speeches. Personal attacks on her status as a minority wanting to be white is uncalled for, I think it is amazing that statements like that are considered ok, because she is a conservative. If a conservative said that a white man or woman voiced an opinion for Obama it was because they wanted to be black that would be considered racist. It doesn't help your argument so why don't you quit being juvenile. Of course this book is going to have a conservative outlook on a liberal party. If this was a left-wing book it would have a liberal slant just common sense people. If you don't like the subject matter or haven't read the book quit commenting on it. I for one really enjoyed the book and will convince my conservative friends to read it as well."
"sleepneat":
"Don't like the message? Kill the messenger. Remember that one? Well, no one here has dispelled anything in the book but take swipes at Malkin's race, gender, and political ideals. Really people, it's sad you can't put down the kool-ade for a moment and think reality. You even have some reviewers here saying she wants to be 'white', what is that? Can you explain the 'white' thing to us that really want understand what you're talking about. Michelle is Filipino, and she is conservative, so that means since she is of Color, being conservative is somehow betraying her heritage? Do you have to be of Color or a white person full of white guilt to be Liberal? If your not liberal as a non-white, you're a traitor to your race and other of Colors? If you're white and conservative, you're a racist and hater of 'of Colors'?
"See where this goes? Open your eyes people, don't buy into the rhetoric and hate of identity politics."
Joan M. Scott:
"Michelle's investigation is the best ammunition I've seen so far ousting this corrupt Marxist from being reelected in 2012.
"I hope some members of Congress read your work on Acorn and SEIU and FINALLY realize that an investigation is necessary, thanks to the whistle blowers. Sunshine, at last! Thanks Michelle."
But "Zoundo" takes a different approach:
"It could not be more obvious that the newest kid on the 'Raging, Screaming Republican Right' is purely in it for the financial gain. (but who really is buying this book? Groups of right wingers? Keepin' it at #1?)
"But who can blame her? From the lowly, rat-culture of the Philippines? (...why not 'join 'em?)
"From her grandparents and parents, being a first generation American, she knows...what it's like to sit in rice paddies all day..every low-life inch of her.
"Lappin' it up all the way to one of the three big banks, eh, Michelle?
"You think it unfair to cut her down to size? To lay the same stuff she's doing here in her book on her?
"Think again.
"After all, I'm just givin' her a taste of the same medicine."
"Zoundo" refuted nothing and exposed himself. He must be enthusiastically looking forward to Obamacare, Cap and Tax, unbalanced budgets, counterproductive tax policy and United States Supreme Court Justice nominations like Judge Sonia Sotomayor!

Gaynor graduated magna cum laude, with Honors in Social Science, from Hofstra University's New College, and received his J.D. degree from St. John's Law School, where he won the American Jurisprudence Award in Evidence and served as an editor of the Law Review and the St. Thomas More Institute for Legal Research. He wrote on the Pentagon Papers case for the Review and obscenity law for The Catholic Lawyer and edited the Law Review's commentary on significant developments in New York law.
The day after graduating, Gaynor joined the Fulton firm, where he focused on litigation and corporate law. In 1997 Gaynor and Emily Bass formed Gaynor & Bass and then conducted a general legal practice, emphasizing litigation, and represented corporations, individuals and a New York City labor union. Notably, Gaynor & Bass prevailed in the Second Circuit in a seminal copyright infringement case, Tasini v. New York Times, against newspaper and magazine publishers and Lexis-Nexis. The U.S. Supreme Court affirmed, 7 to 2, holding that the copyrights of freelance writers had been infringed when their work was put online without permission or compensation.
Gaynor currently contributes regularly to www.MichNews.com, www.RenewAmerica.com, www.WebCommentary.com, www.PostChronicle.com and www.therealitycheck.org and has contributed to many other websites. He has written extensively on political and religious issues, notably the Terry Schiavo case, the Duke "no rape" case, ACORN and canon law, and appeared as a guest on television and radio. He was acknowledged in Until Proven Innocent, by Stuart Taylor and KC Johnson, and Culture of Corruption, by Michelle Malkin. He appeared on "Your World With Cavuto" to promote an eBay boycott that he initiated and "The World Over With Raymond Arroyo" (EWTN) to discuss the legal implications of the Schiavo case. On October 22, 2008, Gaynor was the first to report that The New York Times had killed an Obama/ACORN expose on which a Times reporter had been working with ACORN whistleblower Anita MonCrief.
